Baby Deux - 11 Weeks

We finally got to see our little bean last week!  There really is a baby in there!  Woot!
So, (s)he is apparently not camera shy at all, because (s)he just kept staring right at the ultrasound machine so all the pictures are the scary skeleton face!  And, (s)he has tons of energy, because (s)he kept moving around.  So much, in fact, that it was hard for the doctor to measure him/her.  (S)he ended up measuring a little small, but not small enough to change my due date of January 26th.  And (s)he had a healthy heart-rate of 167 BPM.
The doctor I saw wasn't my favorite at the clinic, but also not my least favorite (Dr. Jerk-Face who was on call when I delivered W has since left this base so I don't have to worry about dealing with him at all this pregnancy - you can read about his shenanigans in my birth story here... part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4).  She commended me for having lost all the weight I had gained while I was pregnant with W, but also told me I was going to have to stop breastfeeding.  She also seemed really concerned with my gestational hypertension during my last pregnancy.  Apparently since I got pregnant again so quickly it increases my chances of that happening again.  She even went so far as to say I should take it easy and almost count on being on bed rest by the end of this pregnancy.  Only time will tell though.

My next appointment on base isn't until August 9th, however I should be getting a call from the specialist sometime soon to set up my first trimester NT scan (if you don't know what an NT scan is, you can read more about it here).

Other than that, I'm actually feeling pretty good lately!  I have most of my energy back and I feel nauseous less often.  However I've been having some really intense dizzy spells and even blacked out a few times last week.  And I feel like I get short of breath super easy, but apparently that's pretty normal.

How are you feeling this week?

  1. I sort of miss being pregnant sometimes. Do you have any "feelings" this time around as to if it's a boy or a girl? I was so sure Mya would be a boy, but nope! :p

    1. I keep having thoughts it's a girl, but I think that's more wishful thinking than anything else. I have a feeling it's a boy just because I want a girl so bad, lol.

  2. So glad your first ultrasound with baby #2 went well!!! I keep thinking baby will be a girl. Maybe it's because I'm having a girl and my brain is "tainted" but that's just my guess! :)
